Employees should plan now to avoid losing their Annual Leave!

ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ HR annually provides notice to employees who are in jeopardy of forfeiture of time off hours. This week, staff members were notified via email of their current Annual Leave balances as of March 31 to those that might risk forfeiture. Next month HR will send out direct emails to employees who qualify for Personal Holiday with current balances. We encourage all employees to work with their supervisors to utilize these important benefits.

When the University transitions to the new fiscal year annually in July, annual leave balances are rolled over up to a maximum of 240 hours. Any balance over 240 hours is forfeited.

How to Avoid Losing Annual Leave

You still have time to use leave or request a cash-in before the annual leave roll occurs. Employees are encouraged to work with their supervisor to use annual leave prior to the end of the fiscal year.

Here are some options for using annual leave balance:

  • Use Your Annual Leave: The last timesheet to report annual leave usage prior to the annual leave roll process will be July 12, the end of payroll run 15.
  • Annual Leave Cash-In: The last day to submit annual leave cash-in forms is June 28, to allow for processing. Please for how to request the annual leave cash-in and the eligibility requirements.

Please contact ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ HR at 907-450-8200 or email ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´-HR@alaska.edu  if you have any questions.
